Sessions and Abstracts:

Data fabric - Establish an architecture to simplify data access for your users

As business needs evolve, new applications and supplementary services are added, and an organization’s data architecture becomes increasingly complex. But given the complexities involved in data management, and the different needs in many business units, the common practice in many organizations is a piecemeal approach to analyzing data. By themselves, individual self-service data analytics and data science tools do not address an organization’s big picture data management challenges, indeed, they often make things more difficult – because they can create tiers of data competency and varying points of view or interpretations of the same data! This Session explains What is Data fabric in the context of IBM Z, what business problems are addressed and what are the components of it. Session explains entry points to Data Fabric concept, use cases and IBM product mapping.

Db2 Utilities Update and some best practices

During this session you will hear the very latest enhancements and updates for the IBM Db2 Utilities for z/OS. In addition, some utility-related best practices will be shared, based on real-world experiences and usage scenarios. And as a little something extra, the session will cover some future directions in the Db2 utilities space.
